How are your chickens raised?

Our chickens are free range. They can run around. In the spring, summer, and fall that includes are large outdoor run. In the winter they do not want to go outside so we let them stay inside. :)
We feed them a standard chicken feed that ensures they have a consistent and complete diet. They also get a large number of food scraps. We are a part of the loop program which works to divert food waste from grocery stores to farms instead of landfills. In the summer they are given grass clippings from our yard and weeds from our garden.

Are your eggs organic?

We are not certified organic.

Question 3

What colour are your egg yolks?

Accepted Answer

Usually our egg yolks would be a dark yellow. However, they can vary in colour depending on the season. In the summer they are darker because of all the greens they are getting. In the winter they are usually paler.

Can I pick up in the evening or on the weekend?

Accepted Answer

Our pickup location is an office with office hours. Therefore city pickup is limited to those hours. We are not able to stay later. If you would like to pickup in the evening or on the weekend we can usually accomodate on the farm. However, we have lives beyond eggs and may not always be available.

Do you deliver?

No. We don't deliver. However, we offer pickup in Edmonton at a convenient central location for all of our products.

Question 6

Can I order one package of lamb?

Accepted Answer

We only sell our lamb by half or whole lamb. We do not have the setup to do otherwise.

Can I come pick up a lamb tomorrow?

We are not able to accomodate last minute requests. We recommend if you need a lamb for a holiday or other occaision that you plan ahead.

You should have lambs available for ________________ special holiday.

Accepted Answer

Sheep are daylight sensitive. This means that they will only breed when days are getting short. So there are certain times of year that it will not be possible to have lamb. Another consideration is that it is very difficult to keep lambs alive that are born in winter conditions. All these factors make May our optimum lambing time and lambs available for purchase in approximately November.

Can I visit the farm?

We occasionally invite visitors to the farm but we do not allow drop in visitors. Thank you for respecting our business and our home.
